Marlayne Schaeffer, the Director of the Westport Dance Center since 1975 has announced the school's grand opening at 15 Ketchum Street, Westport CT.
The newly constructed state-of-the-art facility includes 3 dance studios, music studio, student changing room with lockers, student lounge, kitchen facility, bathrooms with shower, sibling playroom, ample parking and quiet street location.
The Dance Center offers classes for children, teens and adults including the area's most extensive program for young children ages 3-6 featuring Creative Dance, Pre-Tap, Pre-Ballet, Kindertap, Broadway Babies, Hip-Hop Kids, Broadway Kids, Kinderjazz, combo classes including Tap/Ballet and combo Tap/Jazz.
The new location affords the Dance Center to expand its programming for students 8 years and older with classes in Ballet, Pointe, Hip-Hop, Jazz, Lyrical, Tap, Musical Theater, Technique Boot Camp, Turns and Jumps Workshops, and Voice Training.
The Dance Center has also added a comprehensive adult morning schedule including classes in Adult Ballet, Adult Tap (Beg, Int and Adv), Adult Jazz, Adult Musical Theater, Adult Belly Dancing, as well as morning classes in Yoga and Pilates with both group and private training.
Spring registration begins January 1, 2009 for returning students and January 12 for new students.

PLEASE NOTE: ALL RETURNING STUDENTS MUST BE REGISTERED BY JAN 12, AT WHICH TIME REGISTRATION WILL BE OPEN FOR NEW STUDENTS AND WE CANNOT HOLD YOUR CHILD'S PLACE IN CLASS UNLESS THEY ARE OFFICIALLY REGISTERED FOR ALL THEIR CLASSES.
Please check the schedule of classes. There have been several changes in class days and times and new classes have been added.
Class sizes are limited to:
* Max 8 students in classes for 3-4yr olds
* Max 10 students in classes for 5-6yr olds
* Max 12 students inclasses for 7-9yr olds
* All other classes are strictly limited to 15 students
